St Patrick's CYO Remodels Hall
The CYO of St. Patrick's is the personification of the old adage "it's
not the quantity, but the quality that counts." Under guidance of its
moderator, Mrs. Sam Newton, and the leadership of its president, Frank Cobb,
the CYO has renovated the church hall. There are only 11 members of the
club.
The project was thought of and financed solely by the club members. They
donated their Saturdays to paint the hall and lay a new tile floor. The club
had a bake sale and used part of their treasury fund to finance the job. The
CCD children also contributed towards the renovation.
The group has finished the central room of the hall and plans to compete the
kitchen and classrooms after the Centennial Celebration. A mural, which is
being designed now, will also be painted in the central room.
Though their numbers are small, the CYO has done a fine job. The
parishioners are happy to have such fine, industrious young people in St.
Patrick's. The members are Frank Cobb, Peggy O'Farrell, Doug Greene, Marlene
Cobb, Kathy Ward, Rudy Mirandilla, Sharon Smith, Theresa Camara, Kim Scott,
Colleen O'Farrell, and Tommy Ward.
